Friday's sonogram went great! Here's a picture of the little one. It's kind of hard to make out but we did see the arms, legs, head, torso, spine, and a heartbeat!
David and I have had a blast with this website that I learned about from one of my Gymboree friends. It's called yearbookyourself.com. You take a picture of yourself and they give you all different years of yearbook photos of yourself. Here's a picture of me from 1956. David from 1974. Benjamin from 1976. We laughed so hard our stomachs hurt.
Saturday we met some friends, Sherry and Jason, for dinner at Cafe Italia. Once again, the food was out of this world. Then we headed over to the Wine Loft for a quick glass of wine. Well, not me, of course. Saturday was a lot of fun. I had no idea what Sunday was going to hold.....I spent the entire day on the couch. David is so sweet - he took care of Benjamin all day. I felt like I had been hit by a train and the nausea was unbelievable. When I was pregnant with Benjamin my first trimester was a breeze. I was never tired and only had slight waves of nausea from time to time. This time I'm tired all the time and the nausea is unbearable. The good thing is that I don't have much time left in my first trimester - then things should be looking better!
Had my first prenatal visit with Dr. Sigman this morning. The baby's due date is April 3rd. My first sonogram is next Friday, the 29th. She actually remembered me and was so excited about me being pregnant again. She's the sweetest doctor. We had an in-depth conversation about caffeine - it's been really hard not to have my iced coffee these last few weeks. She said it's okay to have it in moderation and that 3 cups a day should be okay but she actually only recommends one cup per day while pregnant. Guess what I'm going to be doing after the gym tomorrow morning? Going back to my routine and stopping by McDonald's for my Vanilla Iced Coffee! Oh Happy Day!
This morning we skipped the gym and went to the park instead. It was still a little muddy out from all the rain but it was worth it. I've got his muddy shoes drying out on the back patio right now. Frederick had a good time as well! Then we went to Firewheel Town Center and strolled around for a little bit - just long enough for Benjamin to get bored with it...which didn't take long.....
Okay, so Benjamin isn't too happy about it but David and I are thrilled! We actually found out on my birthday (2 weeks ago) that he's going to be a big brother. That was the best birthday gift ever! I bought the shirt (it's actually an iron on) about 4 weeks ago (before I even knew I was pregnant) and was praying that I would be able to use it soon!
These pictures were taken right before his bath this evening...hence why he's just in a diaper. He loves these beads. He wears them constantly around the house. He knows how to put them on by himself and will immediately pick them back up and put them back on if you take them off of him. Of course, he only wears them in the house, not in public...don't want him to be mistaken for a girl......
Crazy busy day today! But well worth it. We started off bright and early and headed up to Lake Texoma where my dad is currently "vacationing" - he's retired so he's on permanent vacation. Benjamin had a great time swinging in the swing and hanging out with Grandpa. Then on our way out we briefly stopped by my mom's house. Just long enough for us to see the house plans she finally received for the house she's building...we didn't get any pictures from there because Benjamin was sound asleep - he never even knew we stopped. Then once we got home Grandma Nancy and Granddaddy stopped by for some bar-b-que. We got to see a lot of family today!
Aunt Bev - we sure are glad to hear you're feeling better. Hope you have a wonderful birthday - we figure an announcement on the blog is bigger and better than a card! We love you.
Benjamin loves to throw rocks in our Koi pond. For the most part I don't allow it but just because I wanted to get some pictures I let him do it a few times this afternoon. Every little kid that comes over wants to throw rocks in our pond. So funny...I wonder why that is?
David surprised me with a trip to San Antonio for my birthday. We stayed in a hotel right on the Riverwalk and got to do a lot of "people watching" from our balcony. Surprisingly with our room right there in the middle of it all you couldn't hear all the commotion from inside. Granddaddy & Grandma Nancy kept Benjamin and when we came back in town they surprised me with Nancy's famous German Chocolate cake! DELICIOUS!
