Savannah's Birthday, Round 2

The weekend after Savannah's birthday we met up with my best friend, Sherry, and her two girls, Hope & Harlee, at Great Wolf Lodge.  It's now officially a tradition to go there with them for Savannah's birthday.  I'm not complaining! It's always so much fun.  I made us matching shirts as well.  Savannah was in Heaven!

Easter at the Van Meters

Once again the Van Meters hosted Eater at their house.  ALWAYS a good time!  

Over-Achievers

So what do you do when your Crossfit gym isn't having classes one Saturday morning because they're hosting a weightlifting championship?  Meet up with another Crossfitter and do a Crossfit workout at her house.  Yay!

Happy 9th Birthday, Savannah

Savannah's birthday started out shopping with our tradition of birthday donuts.  Thankfully that day they had the day off from school (THEO) because of Good Friday so she went shopping with Grandmother & purchased a new Build-A- Bear.  Later that day her good friend, Bethanna, came over to play and then joined us for dinner at Magic Time Machine.  The next day we met up with Grandpa & Nonnie for dinner of her choice.  She chose Besa's.

Lemonade Stand

The kids decided to make a lemonade/coffee stand to raise money for our new church.   They got several customers & raised a total of $17.00!  Here they are with Grandpa, the most generous of all the customers.  

Bedtime

So what does Savannah do AFTER she's already bathed & ready for bed?  Draw on her face.  Of course, who wouldn't?

Marcela's Birthday

These girls.  Oh my goodness these sweet, precious, kind, loving, beautiful girls brought me into their circle & have accepted me & loved me just as I am.  Some people are blessings & others are lessons. These girls, who I call my "fancy friends", are 100% blessings.

Ben's Asthma Scare

Ben's asthma got extremely worse for a few days.  Inhalers & nebulizer treatments didn't help at all.  The doctor performed a breathing test and the poor kid was at 30% lung capacity which put the doctor into a tail-spin because he said he rarely sees numbers that low.  After more treatments & a round of steroids we finally got him breathing normally again!

Rabbit Dreaming

Savannah has been begging for a about a year now for a rabbit.  I don't think it'll happen but that doesn't mean she won't stop asking!  We make weekly trips to her favorite store Pet Supermarket to pet the rabbits.

Yep, we went.  Guess what?  It was actually quite fun!

And the Winner is.......

For five grueling weeks I participated in a Crossfit "Nutrition/Lifestyle" challenge.  The challenge involved:

1.  We were only allowed one glass of wine per week

2.  Eat only Paleo

3.  Had to get 7 hours of sleep a night

4.  Drink half our body weight in ounces of water

5.  Do an hour of some form of daily physical exercise

6.  Do 10 minutes of mobility work a day

Believe it or not, I actually won.  I have never been so disciplined in my life!  I ended up losing 10 pounds and dropping my body fat down to 13 percent.  For the record, I'm so glad it's over!  Now, pass me a donut.

Happy 10th Birthday Rocco

The ice cream shop up the road (Sweet Firefly) hosted a fundraiser in honor of Rocco's 10th birthday.  All showed up got free ice cream until noon.  They were so sweet to rename his favorite flavor (Birthday Cake) to "Rocco's Birthday Cake" for the day.

CrossFit Kids' Competition

First post of 2018. Wow, time flies & I'm way far behind.  Ben & Savannah competed in a Crossfit competition recently.  They did great!  Unfortunately, Ben only made it through 1 of the 3 events because he had to leave early because he felt sick.  Ended up being the flu! Poor guy pushed through his first event pale as I've ever seen him.  We didn't realize he was sick until he began the competition.  He & David ended up leaving while Savannah stayed and she ended up getting 2nd place!
