House Revonation
We went through a 5 week house renovation. It was exhausting trying to keep the dogs contained & trying to homeschool through all of the noise & contractors coming & going, but it was 100% worth it! Here are some before & afters.
I just wanted to show this new light fixture....it's one of my favorite changes we made to the house.
Adore Her
Sherry & I tend to always dress alike...sometimes by accident, others on purpose, ha! It's not uncommon for people to ask us if we're sisters. We have so much in common that I feel like we are sisters. We talk just about every day. It's like my day isn't complete if we haven't called or texted. Love her.
Italy
This trip was definitely one of my most favorite (Mexico, for my 40th, being my absolute favorite). Rome, Florence, Sienna, Pisa, & Tuscany were several of the places we visited. Tuscany was breathtaking. Even Savannah said Tuscany is one of her favorite places we've ever visited (her favorite is Hawaii).
Family picture at the Roman Forum
Dadda & Ben at our first meal in Italy which was pizza, of course!
I loved all the colors in this pasta!
This picture was taken at my favorite restaurant in Rome. They had the BEST beef ravioli. We ate there several times.......
Here's the beef ravioli. Yum!
Ben eating octopus for the first time!
Savannah eating octopus for the first time. She wasn't all that impressed.
Trevi Fountain in Rome
Our patio in our flat in Rome.
This was Savannah's favorite breakfast for a few mornings at a little coffee shop right by our flat.
That's a real mummy behind them! (At the Vatican)
Vatican ceiling. We couldn't take pictures of the Sistine Chapel ceiling.
Armed guards were all around the wall of Vatican City. Made us feel safe!
The menu at my favorite restaurant.
Back at my favorite restaurant.
This guy came around and sang beautifully (and loud) in Italian while we were eating dinner (at my favorite restaurant) one night.
Our view & pool at our villa in Tuscany. Hard life.....
Right outside the front door of our villa. It was paradise!
Mama, can we dance in the rain? Sure kids. They had a blast!
This was from the Chianti festival, which was basically just wine tasting booths setup. It rained quite a bit but really it just added to the ambience. We went back a couple of times when it wasn't raining.
Leaning Tower of Pisa
If you look in the distance you can see our villa & pool.
This was the night we hired a couple of chefs to come cook for us in our villa. Sitting outside with the fire pit enjoying a home cooked Italian meal was heavenly.
Savannah wasn't happy about taking this picture. We passed by this sign everyday leaving our villa & always laughed at it. It has a man with a brief case & a woman crossing the street. Obviously telling us to watch out for pedestrians. We laugh because we were out in the middle of nowhere and hardly ever saw another soul. We had to make fun it.
We drove back to Rome on our final night in Italy and this little courtyard in the hotel we stayed was just darling to me.
Last Italian meal before heading back to the U.S.A.
This man was outside of our flat in Rome almost daily playing music on the accordion. I loved every moment of it. It added so much to our experience!
