Kids' Crossfit
It's amazing the difference a different class makes. The kids had been doing the homeschool Crossfit class all last year. Since summer started we joined the regular kids' classes. During the school year Ben & Savannah didn't take it seriously. This new class has really encouraged them to work harder, take it seriously, & really focus on fitness and making gains. Plus, they've made some great friends from it too! They're really enjoying the class & it's fascinating to watch their form get better & better and them getting stronger with each class. Makes a mama proud! A family that Crossfits together stays together, right?
Hawaii
We celebrated Joe & Nancy's 50th wedding anniversary in Hawaii for 10 days. Definitely a trip to remember! It took 3 tries to actually leave the airport but we finally made it! First, once we boarded there was a fuel leak (first picture). So we exited the plane to wait a couple of hours for it to be fixed. Then we got back on, flew for a few minutes and had to turn around to make an emergency landing because the landing gear wasn't working. Scary. They ended up paying for us all to spend the night in a hotel close to the airport so we could take a flight out the next morning. Third time is a charm and we made it to Hawaii! Whew! We were in Maui for about 5 days & then flew to Oahu for the remainder of the trip. Our 2 most memorable experiences there were the road to Hana & Pearl Harbor.

Frederick 6-30-2003 to 6-1-2017
Frederick left us on June 1, 2017. Had no idea it would be so hard. He was part of my life for almost 14 years. He died the day before we left for Hawaii. Made for a dark could over the trip. It's been almost 6 months now since he passed and I still get choked up. I miss that little guy so much. The pictures below were taken a couple of hours before he passed. He got really sick with kennel cough & his walking kept getting worse. It was obvious to us it was time. That day we took him on a long walk (holding him) and stopped to let him sniff at all of his favorite spots. Then we gave him his favorite treat - sliced cheese.
