Disney World

We set out for Disney World on December 30th. Benjamin had the best time playing with his family - Abby, Andrew, Uncle Abraham, Aunt Laura, Granddaddy, and Grandma Nancy. He said Mickey for the first time while we were there and now is in love with anything Mickey Mouse and Donald Duck. The fireworks at the Castle definitely scared him - but for the most part he loved everything about Disney World!

If it's not one thing it's another......

Benjamin has had a runny nose for the past couple of weeks. Usually it's no big deal when he gets one so we were just waiting for it to pass. However, he woke up from his nap this afternoon pretty sick. It's moved to his lungs and the poor thing can't cough hard enough to get it all out. Sounds like he's gagging at times. Sadly, he's passed whatever it is that he has on to me....I was thinking I was just having allergy problems but it looks like it's turning into a full blown cold. To top it all off, I hit my toe and split it open yesterday on the coffee table. Spent the afternoon in the Care Now clinic to make sure it wasn't broken. All of this and we're leaving for Disney World shortly. We're praying we're all better by then.

Christmas Part 2 - Happy Birthday Jesus!

Christmas morning was a blast! We made it last for a long time! Surprisingly, Benjamin was the last one awake Christmas morning - he slept in until almost 9am! He was stunned to see all the stuff Santa left. We first went through all of Santa's gifts, then ate my mom's famous egg casserole, then went back for presents. For lunch we had beef stew and birthday cake for Jesus. The boys spent the day putting together Ben's new play gym from Grandmother and David's new grill from Grandpa. Benjamin spent the day playing with all the Elmo toys he received. He was a happy little boy - in fact, he didn't get out of his pj's ALL DAY!

Christmas Part 1

Christmas Eve was so much fun. My mom and dad came, we went to our church service, then we ate too much food (meatballs, fruit, banana bread, blueberry muffins, fudge, cookies, and on and on). Oh, don't forget - we had to get ready for Santa! We decided to leave Weight Watcher cookies for Santa with some Lowfat Milk and also some Iced Coffee in case he needed a little pick-me-up! It was hard to keep Benjamin out of Santa's cookies. These first set of pictures were taken from my normal camera that I always use...however, my husband got me an incredible Nikon D90 professional camera for Christmas - those pictures will be seen in Christmas Part Two!

Potty Progress!

Benjamin has been doing a great job lately at telling me when he has a dirty diaper. However, today we made MAJOR progress! He actually told me he had to "potty" before he actually pottied in his diaper. He told me "potty" and ran over to his potty and stood by it. Then proceeded to do the deed in his diaper. Yippee!

Playdate with Hope

This morning we skipped the gym and Sherry brought Hope over for a playdate. Benjamin had the best time. It's so cute to watch Hope - her momma warns her that she's going to get a spanking and Hope will spank herself and thinks it's funny. I know she's in trouble so I try not to laugh but it's just so cute how she reacts.

How Benjamin Likes to Clean the Silverware......

For the past several days this is what I've caught Benjamin doing - digging in our silverware drawer, pulling each utensil out and licking them one by one. He always puts it back in the drawer when he's done. Thankfully I can always tell when he's been in there - when he has, I end up washing ALL of the utensils.....maybe we'll move to plastic utensils for the time being. We've got most of our cabinets with childproof locks, just haven't done the drawers yet - looks like it might be time!

Our Future Rocket Scientist......

Pop-Up Books

Benjamin absolutely loves pop-up books. He has quite a few of them. However, we have one pop-up book that strikes fear in him. The last page of this particular book will make him COMPLETELY freak out and come running and screaming to Momma and Dadda (or anyone that is near by). He'll even back away from the book when he notices it on the table and then begin to wimper. This photograph is of the particular "pop-up" that is so frightening to him.....it's a smiling horse. Poor Benjamin.
