Bed Head

Couldn't resist this photo opportunity. Benjamin's hair is usually quite a mess in the mornings but this morning it was pretty much over the top (no pun intended). Kind of reminded me of Bart Simpson.

Proverbs 22:6
Train up a child in the way he should go; even when he is old he will not depart from it.

Ben Stein's "Expelled - No Intelligence Allowed"

David and I rented a video the other night called "Expelled - No Intelligence Allowed". It's about Evolution vs. Intelligent Design and how they're both being presented in the academic world. It's very thought provoking and I highly recommend it. My favorite part? A question the evolutionists can't seem to come up with a straight answer to..."how did life originate"? Some said on the back of "crystals" and others said "aliens". Makes me giggle but mostly makes me sad for them. Whoever does watch it - the part about Baylor is unfortunately and shockingly true.

Genesis 1:1
In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth.

Genesis 1:27
God created man in his own image, in the image of God he created him; male and female he created them.

Bubbles....

After Benjamin's nap today we spent quite a bit of time out in the backyard. He loves bubbles so I made sure to have some around. Here's a couple of pics of him trying to blow the bubbles himself. He never quite figured it out.

4-D Sonogram

Okay, so I finally got around to getting a shot of the 4-D sonogram onto the computer. Here's probably the best capture of the baby girl. We were concerned at first, wondering what in the world is that distorted "thing" in front of her chin....was it an arm? However the doctor was able to determine it's the umbilical cord...whew. This was taken almost 3 weeks ago and at that time her weight was 2 1/2 pounds. They supposedly grow at about half a pound a week now so that would put her around 4 pounds now! Feels more like 20......

Icy Roads + No Bible Study = Fort Building!

So I get an email from our small group leader late this afternoon that our Bible study had been cancelled for this evening. I was EXTREMELY disappointed because I was looking forward to getting out of the house and reconnecting with everyone. Now that Benjamin is better and David and I are on the upswing, tonight was my night to get out and have some adult time with my church family. This morning it was too icy to get out for the gym so we've still been cooped up in the house. But then I had a brilliant idea - something I hadn't done since I was a little girl and something I used to love doing, building forts in the house out of blankets and sheets. Benjamin wasn't quite sure what I was doing at first but he quickly caught on. He even hand-picked where he wanted some of the blankets to go for his fort. He had a blast (and strangely so did I!) Tomorrow is Mother's Day Out for Benjamin and I'm going to make use of the "DAY OUT" in the title! Not sure what I'm going to do but I'm sure not going to be cooped up at home anymore!

Part 2 of "So Ready to Get Out of the House!"

So Benjamin is all better but guess who's sick now? David and me both! David telecommuted to work today so he wouldn't get his coworkers sick and I haven't gotten out of my pj's in 2 days. I'm getting cabin fever like nobody's business. I've slept more in the past 2 days than I have in the past few months though - my body telling me to take a break! The good thing is that David and I never got a fever like Benjamin did, we just got a really bad cold. Since I missed the gym most of last week because of Benjamin being sick I was looking forward to getting back in our morning gym routine today. But with how my lungs, head, and nose are all clogged up there's no way I'm making it on a treadmill! Looks like we'll try again tomorrow....I'm crossing my fingers. (Knowing my luck I'll feel better tomorrow but it's looking like the weather won't be working in my favor because of the ice warning...bah humbug).

Soooo Ready to Get Out of the House!

For the past several days Benjamin has had a fever, a horrible cough, and runny nose. Surprisingly he's still sleeping well which is something he's never really had a problem with anyway. He took a 4 hour nap yesterday and was still ready to go to bed early that night. Needless to say, since he's not feeling well we've been cooped up in the house all week being couch potatoes. On Wednesday I walked out of the living room for a couple of minutes and when I came back in the room this is what I found. He had gathered up both of his teddy bears, Dumbo, his blanket, his bowl full of grapes, and his sippie cup and placed them all around him and plopped himself on the couch. My true couch potato.

Just a Couple of Pictures....

Nothing really interesting to report right now - I'm too tired for anything interesting....pretty sad. Trying to enjoy every moment of this pregnancy though....exhaustion, migraines, and all because a 3rd child is not in "our plans". I have to laugh when I say "our plans". Our pastor made a comment one time about how do you make God laugh? Tell Him "your" plans. I love that.

At any rate, we did get our 4-D sonogram last week but I still haven't uploaded the pictures. Hopefully I'll get around to it soon. The pictures of the baby girl are great - you can tell she and Benjamin are brother and sister.

I do have 2 pictures that I just love of Benjamin that I wanted to post. The first one is from a playdate over the weekend with Natalie and her little girl Tiffany. The second one is just a random shot in his playroom.

Playdate with Riley - Bye Bye "Lylie"

This morning we met Riley and Melanie at Willowbend Mall for a playdate. Benjamin has a nickname for Riley now - as we were leaving (and unfortunately out of ear shot of Riley and Melanie) Benjamin kept saying "bye bye lylie, bye bye lylie". I just love how he's putting so many phrases together now. However, my favorite is still "Where'd it go?" and then he responds "There it is!" He's starting to replace the "it" in "where'd it go" as well. He'll say "where dadda go?" or "where'd piece go?" (meaning, where did his puzzle piece go). Love it.
