The Indigo Girls

A couple of weeks ago we traveled to Virginia to see the Indigo Girls in concert. (Could you say I'm just a little bit of a fan?) Anyway, we also had tickets to a meet and greet with them (there were only 25 tickets available to the meet and greet). It included a private show with just the few of us, autographed CD, and pictures taken with the girls. The girls were so generous. Even signed a painting given to us by our artist friend, Richard. We told them about how Benjamin calls them the "Indian Kids" and they even signed the CD "To Ben, Love the Indian Kids". David and I had the BEST time! One of the pictures below is right when we gave Benjamin the signed CD. Could you say he's just a LITTLE HAPPY? Sweet guy.

A very happy Benjamin!

Baylor Bound

I asked Benjamin what his favorite color is and he said green and yellow. Yep, he's Baylor bound! (It's actually gold, but we'll accept yellow!) That's my boy! No pressure son....no pressure!

I love this picture of the two of them. They're watching Mickey Mouse on Youtube. Savannah just HAD to be included. Of course she fell off the chair once and threw a screaming fit and wouldn't you know it, she wanted right back on the chair when she calmed down.

Michael Buble

We attended the Michael Buble concert last weekend with our friends Nancy and Richard. I have one word to say about it - INCREDIBLE! Richard is our artist friend who painted the picture we have of Michael Buble. After much persistance (and patience) his Art Director, Nancy, was able to get Michael to sign our painting. We had to wait until everyone was gone from American Airlines for him to do it! But it was most definitely worth the wait. Thanks so much Nancy and Richard!

Preshow. Dinner at Hooters with Nancy and Richard.

Even though our seats were towards the side of the stage they ended up being great. Sing it Buble!

Nancy and me waiting with the opening act's security, Naturally 7, for everyone to leave the arena so Michael can sign the paintings!

The opening act, Naturally 7.

Richard (the one who painted the pictures) and one of the members of Naturally 7 who helped pull some strings for us to get Michael to sign the paintings!

Bye Bye Richard....for a little while!

Our artist friend Richard wrote a screenplay and it was picked up by Hollywood. He's off to California to start production on it. We attended a "sending off" party for him on Saturday night. Loads of fun! He had a drawing to give away one of his paintings and my sweet mother won! Bye bye Richard, have fun and we'll see you in a few weeks.

Potty Training

We started on June 21st. As of July 9th I would say we have success! Don't get me wrong, we by no means are accident free but I do feel comfortable actually taking him out in public now. It's been a lot of hard work but I must say I'm so proud of my little man. Oh and less diapers to buy....ahhhh, what a lovely thing!

Winning at the ATM

Here's a funny one that kept us laughing for a bit. The other weekend David pulled up to an ATM with the kids in the car to get some cash. As soon as the cash was dispensed Benjamin yells "Oh! Dadda, you WON!"

Benjamin asked me to take his picture and here was his pose. Such a guy!

Since we feel like we haven't been to enough weddings this summer.....

we felt it necessary to attend another one last night. Don't get me wrong, I'm not complaining, but wow! Four weddings since school has been out! It's that time of year. Anyway, we attended my little brother's wedding on Saturday night and had an absolute blast with everyone. Thanks guys for such a great time and thanks Mom for your outstanding help!

Twilight Marathon - Go Team Edward....and Jacob!

Three movies in one evening. Pure craziness...and sleepiness. Yep, I fell asleep during 2 of them....but only momentarily. Great times though with great friends. Just looks like I'll have to watch the 3rd again. A midnight movie is WAY past my bedtime. Ahhhh yawn.

David's Birthday

David celebrated his 37th birthday by cleaning up our flooded house due to a backed up toilet. Geez, poor guy. Since we've been potty training Benjamin we've been going through a lot of "flushable" wipes. Well, all I have to say is that "flushable" wipes really aren't flushable. They're the reason for the catastrophe.

We did end up having a little time to stop by a friend's house and have dinner and birthday cake. Here's an attempt at writing on his cake. Ahem, we'll say the kids tried to write it.

So we really celebrated his birthday the next weekend. Our dear artist friend, Richard, made this painting for David for his birthday. Our bedroom is basically a gallery of Richard's art and this is a very welcomed addition. It's not finished yet but you get the idea. Thank you so much Richard!

Our dear friends.
