Pretty in Pink

Last weekend Savannah had a "Pretty in Pink" party to celebrate turning 2 years old. Since she's been surrounded by trains, cars, dinosaurs and all things blue her entire life because of Benjamin, Saturday was all about her. All things pink, princess, and anything fabulous. Our house looked like a bottle of Pepto Bismol exploded in it. Everything was pink....and I LOVED it! The rule of the party was that everyone had to wear something pink or at least have something on them that was pink. If not, male and female, had to wear a tiara and a pink boa. We had some guys come up with some great "pink". Uncle Abraham paper clipped a pink post-it-note to his shirt....yes, it counted! Richard painted a pink heart on his face (brave dude). And Tom had to keep a drink of pink lemonade in his hand the whole time. It was a blast and I think Savannah had fun too!

The birthday princess.

Can I have this balloon?

Savannah, me, and Natalie. Can you tell she's all about the tiara?

Nice save with the pink heart on the cheek Richard!

Just a portion of the pink.....

Ms. Diane and Savannah. Diane came perfect for the party. Princess jewelry and tiara. Love it!

Here's the birthday princess cake that Grandma Nancy made. The tiara even lit up! Thanks Grandma Nancy!

Daddy and Benjamin in matching outfits.

Savannah and Grandpa. Okay, so Grandpa's shirt was more of a coral color than pink but we let him get away with it.

Blowing out the candles. She still has some learning to do on how to blow, sweet thing.

Grandma Nancy even made a smaller cake just for Savannah so she could devour it. Well, just like last year, the cake was hardly touched and no mess was made. I see every day this girl is more and more like me. :) No messy, messy, messy here!

Bubble machine time....minus bow. :(

Sand Surprise

I turned my back for two minutes and Miss Savannah decides that bringing the sand box INSIDE was a good idea.....

She had a cup and poured large amounts out on our ottoman coffee table. Okay, so really it doesn't look that bad. I know it could've been worse.

Soccer Lessons

Benjamin had his first soccer lesson last night. He did really well! I can't believe I have a preschooler. Where does the time go?

Now Savannah on the other hand, was quite the bear to deal with during lessons; therefore, she won't be returning.....long story. What a sassy little girl!

Kelly McRunning Chick

I ran my first 5k race last weekend on the Baylor campus. I know 5k doesn't sound like much but for someone like me who's N-O-T a runner, who doesn't have two full lungs, and has asthma, well, it was a huge accomplishment. My goal was to run the entire thing without walking and I actually did it. I've been training for the past 3 months and of course my husband, who had hardly trained at all, was able to run it as well. Although I have to gloat...I DID beat him by almost a minute!

The kids also did the race with the grandparents! Here they are crossing the finish line. Good job guys!

The whole Baylor family. All of us completed the race!

Like Father, Like Son

Two peas in a pod....addicted to playing games on their iPods. Don't ever try to compete with Ben though....he's GOOOOD! Especially at Angry Birds and his dinosaur hunting game!

On another note....Happy St. Patty's Day!

Bye-Bye Harry Potter

I finished the last Harry Potter book this afternoon (the 7th one). What an incredible series! Classic case of good versus evil. And I'll give you one guess as to which side wins? Ahhh, Dumbledore, how I'll miss your kindness, goodness, and intellect. Harry, you're bravery and compassion, even for those who want to harm you is so touching. I tell you, it's 100% entertaining (well, except for book two...big yawn...kind of boring) and I'm so sad that there's no more to read. Almost makes me feel a little depressed that I won't be reading it in bed tonight. So now on to my next book. I've been reading "What Difference do it Make" in between my Harry Potter readings and it's been really good as well. It's the follow-up book to "Same Kind of Different as Me". I highly recommend it as well. Knowing that I have a good book waiting for me to curl up with just puts a smile on my face. :)

Pardon Me!

As I was walking down our hallway last night taking Savannah to bed, she burps. Here's how the rest of it went:

Savannah:
Oh, I sorry!

Me:
That's okay. Excuse you.

Savannah patting her own bottom:
I poot.

Funny that she would associate burping with pooting. This had David and me rolling.

Privacy Fence

Well here it is! Our new, all natural front yard privacy fence. Yes folks, when I look out my front door this is what I see: twigs, branches, and tree trunks. We had our enormous fig tree cut down in our back yard and here is its remains. It stretches from one end of our property to the other. I did mention it's in our FRONT YARD, right? It's awesome. Oh, and it completely covers the sidewalk so we don't have to worry about our pesky neighbors walking in front of our house. I know the neighbors really like it too.....even though none of them have complimented us on it yet. Actually, now that I think about it, they're probably just jealous.

On serious note, the City of Richardson came to pick it up a few days later. THANK GOODNESS!

Thou Shalt Not Steal

Well, it's official. Savannah is a thief. Not just any thief though, she stole from church. What makes it even worse? She stole baby Jesus. Apparently she had it in her hand as we were leaving the building and I didn't notice. Yes, it was returned a few days later.
