The 3 Stooges at Campisi's

Helmets

Yes, that is what you think it is on their heads.  They're calling them their "helmets".

Happy 6th Birthday Christopher (Cowboy Stadium)

Mr. Expectant

I told Frederick that Grandmother was coming to visit and this is what he did for an hour waiting on her.  For real, he does know her name!

Here he's staring at the front door waiting on her…..

Ice Cream

I scream, you scream, we all scream for ice cream!

True to my Word

Remember the post about slowing down and having fun?  Well, we've accomplished (and still are accomplishing) all 6 ideas.  Here's proof……..

Idea #5 was eating under the table.  Talk about a hit!!!!  The kids spent a day eating every meal under the table and thought they were the coolest kids ever (and of course, they are).

Breakfast

Lunch

Dinner

We've also had fruit and ice cream for dinner (another BIG hit), given a ton of "love bombs", give nightly high/low points (which have been so insightful…..many times the kids say they have no "low point"), they've slept in the living room on our pull out couch.  Finally, just a few days ago we had a stay-up-as-late-as-you-want night.  By 11pm they said they wanted to take a break from staying up and lie down in the their beds just for a little rest and then get back up.  Well, of course they stayed asleep all night….Mom won that contest!

It's been fun.

What Brings Out Your Inner Child?

So this happened weeks ago but……nothing can make me squeal like a little girl like a cup of coffee in my hand, my favorite comfy pj's, and falling snow.  Happy day!

Savannah said she's catching the snowflakes to put in her keepsake box!  Ha!  Good luck sweet girl!

Slow Down Have Fun

I'm reading a new book about being intentional to slowing down life.  To not let society pressure you into the "go, go, go" mentality (although that describes Savannah perfectly), and to be silly and shake things up a bit when our routine gets a bit mundane.  Here's some things I've learned that I love and will be applying:

1.  Give "love bombs".  Occasionally and out of nowhere shower your kids with hugs and kisses and a plethora of "I love you's".  (Don't forget to include the husband on this one!!!).  Although our kids already get A LOT of this, it's never really had a name.  This week, I'm amping the "love bombs" up a notch.

2.  At the end of every day (before we wrap up our bedtime routine, and right before nighttime prayers) ask your kids what was their most favorite part of the day and what was their least favorite part of the day.  Again, include husband in this as well.

3.  Have ice cream and fruit for dinner.  Oh yeah!  Surprise them with it if they've been extra good that day.  Or, if they've had a bad day to cheer them up.

4.  Let them sleep in their sleeping bags in the living room.

5.  Make a picnic under the kitchen table and eat breakfast there.  We have a fairly high table in the kitchen and this will work beautifully!

6.  Have a "stay up as late as you want night".  This would need to be planned of course because this totally wouldn't work on a school night.  But this is something they can look forward too.
