My Little Tom Boy
Love this picture of Savannah. Yes, that's her in Benjamin's pj's and my hat. As I was packing up some things that Benjamin has grown out of I realized...you know, who cares what pj's look like, right? You just sleep in them. So sorry Savannah, you'll be wearing Ben's old pj's until you start talking and have something to say about it! Love you dear.

Gymboree Girls Night Out
I met some of the Gymboree moms for dinner the other night. It's always such a great time with these fabulous ladies. Here's our conversation highlights:
1. Poopie diapers = check.
2. Toddler accidents with no diapers on = check.
3. Bowel movements = check.
3. Seeing the expression of the poor people next to us trying to stomach their dinner while listening to our much appetizing conversation = PRICELESS!

Easter 2010
So I'm getting a little behind on the blog. Easter was a week ago and I'm just now posting.
We did Easter pretty low-key this year. Benjamin's friend Riley came over after church and we had an Easter egg hunt in our house (the backyard was muddy). It went really well. The kids had a blast.
Easter church outfits. Impossible to get them both to smile and look at the camera at the same time. So this is the best shot I got. Poor Savannah.

Checking out his basket to see what all the Easter bunny brought.

Action shot hunting for eggs!

I bought Savannah an outfit that says "My First Easter" to wear with a little pink ruffle skirt. It wasn't until it was almost bedtime that I realized that this wasn't her first Easter....last year was (thanks Dad for pointing that out). Duh Kelly. Anyway, this is her saying "Hi". One of her favorite words now...along with "Jaw Jaw" (that's what she calls Benjamin) and Dyaw (which is how she says "yeah" or "yes"). Funny funny.

The Things Kids Say...
The other day Benjamin was pushing a stroller around the playroom. It got stuck on one of his toys and his response was "Great Scott!" I turned around and asked him "What did you just say?" He said again "Great Scott!" I have no idea where he learned that but it kept me smiling for quite a long time. Silly boy.
Savannah's new thing is to say "Hi". She's really good at it now. Seems to have just happened over night. When I went in to her room the other morning to get her she gave me a big smile and kept saying "Hi" to me over and over. She waves at times too. Just love it!

Pictures That Make Me Laugh
This first picture was shot during an odd mood Savannah was in one day. Every time I went to take her picture this is the face she would make. Silly girl.

This next picture is how she pretends to talk on the phone. That's our cordless behind her head and then she starts talking mumbo jumbo to who knows who!

Finally this last picture is what she does when she's really concentrating (she's still trying to figure out crawling and that's what she was in the middle of doing). I pretend it's her blowing me a kiss.

Happy Birthday Little Hippie Chick!
Sunday afternoon we celebrated Savannah's 1 year birthday with a groovy hippie party! Her actual birthday is today though!
Good Morning Birthday Girl!

On our way to church - tie-dyed church attire.

Benjamin on our way to church and not happy that it's not HIS birthday!

We found out that a way to keep Savannah entertained for a super long time is to tie balloons to her high chair. She absolutely loved it!

Cousins Abby and Andrew.

Peace Andrew!

This is the best shot I got of Benjamin in his tie-dyed shirt. He was not interested in having his picture taken that day.

Benjamin's girlfriend, Riley.

Savannah, Mommy, and Benjamin

Grandmother and Great Aunt Cathie

Grandpa and Savannah

Savannah's tie-dyed birthday cake. Thanks Grandma Nancy for making it!

Disney on Ice
I just find it so fascinating to witness how 2 children can come from the same parents and be so different. We met up with Benjamin's new girlfriend today and her parents to see Disney on Ice. I was pretty hesitant to take Savannah but decided to take a chance. First of all, when Benjamin was her age, there was no way he'd be able to sit through even 2 minutes of a show before he was ready to go and do something else. Savannah was just amazing! For the first 30 minutes all she did was clap, smile, laugh, clap some more, laugh some more, and keep on grinning from ear to ear. After the 30 minutes she did get restless so I took her on a walk outside to enjoy this wonderful weather around American Airlines Center. Benjamin and Daddy stayed to watch the show. It was a nail biter for Benjamin. As you can see in the picture below, his fingers stayed in his mouth the entire show and he literally sat on the edge of his seat the whole time.
Savannah having an absolute blast!

Savannah clapped at all the right times.

Benjamin's favorite! Mickey Mouse!

Ben's new love....Riley.

Riley came over the night before to play and they both got to take a bath together. After bath time they had a BLAST jumping on Benjamin's bed.
