I Want my Phone Back!

The kids have pretty much taken over my phone.  Dragon City and Monster Pet Shop keep them busy. As I was going through my pictures this morning on my phone I found this.  Goofy kiddos!

Ok, She Got Me Started....

My favorite sister-in-law, Laura, sent me this picture below.  She TOTALLY knows me!

So, that led me to find minimalism pictures and quotes....cue next two pictures.

Then, that led me to Pinterest looking for my dream.

First things first, before I reveal the images innermost in my head and what I daydream about (ahhhh yes, daydreaming.....only when the kids aren't occupying my time (not complaining, just saying)........ok, so daydreaming, yeah, happens for about 3 mintues a day.......if I'm lucky)):
I am a minimalist ( much to the dismay of my pack rat husband....hey, it makes for a perfect balance in our relationship, does it not?) Si, si!!!!!  I'm not saying either way is right...(ok, ahem, I am right....shhhhh) BUT at least we have a balance (or shall we say compromise).

My dream:
1.  Log cabin
2.  Two bedroom
3.  Front porch over looking a river that the kids can swim in (2 rocking chairs....a must)
4.  Blue and white speckled dishes in our cabinets
5.  Wood burning stove
6.  No neighbors within in sight and ear shot.
7.  Flannel pjs
8.  A good snow during winter
9. Coffee...sitting on my porch....in my rocking chair.....in my red flannel pj's........listening to James Taylor
10. And finally....my husband sitting in his rocking chair next to me, in his flannel pj's, drinking coffee, snow on the ground, while our kids play in the river....ok, so they're going to get hypothermia.....need to rethink this one I suppose.

Here goes......

Here is my perfect bedroom.

Here is my perfect kids' room.

Here is my perfect kitchen.

Here is my favorite living room.  Where is the TV you might ask???  NOT THERE!  P.E.R.F.E.C.T.!!!!!!

Here's the front.  Just need some rocking chairs and I'm set.  (Please note the water RIGHT IN FRONT!!!!)

So, the next two pictures are for Laura.  I love you and I miss your guidance.  We pray for you every night. You are thought of many times a day. (Pardon the grammar mistakes in the first picture below.....not my mistakes....ha!)

Birthday Dinner with my Mommy!

Forgot to post this last week.  Mom took me out to dinner for my birthday.  This is us after about 10 tries of trying to get a good picture.....vanity is hard sometimes.

My Favorite Things.....

Unsweetened Almond Coconut Milk.  This is wonderful in my morning coffee and makes yummy protein shakes.

Marble Slab Creamery.  Happy Hour from 1-5pm and the kids can get a cup of ice cream for $1.00!!!

Monster Pet Shop App.  The kids are obsessed with this game and it's so cute.   They have so much fun checking on their eggs to see if they've hatched.

The Walking Dead.  Next season starts October 13th.  An eternity.......

Egg cups.  Thanks to my friend Sherry I have a new favorite snack.  Whip up some egg whites, sauté some spinach, mix 'em together, pour in cup cake pan and bake.  I can make a whole batch of them for the week and whenever I'm craving one just pop one in the microwave, add some salsa and voila, an instant healthy snack.

Channel 68 on satellite radio.....It's the spa station......my escape from reality and into paradise!  Ahhh........

Plastic spoons and paper plates and cups....because sometimes it's awesome to be lazy........

Even though my wine consumption has decreased drastically (no more nightly glass of wine....now it's more like my weekly glass of wine.....) I still enjoy tasting and trying new Chardonnays.  Butternut is extremely tasty and affordable.

Savannah's new chair....ok, it's not really new.  It's actually 30 years old.  It was mine when I was a little girl.  It was a little beat up and the seat was in bad shape.  However, a quick trip to the fabric store and fresh paint made it look like new!  I told Savannah she could pick out ANY fabric in the store and this is what she chose.

I'm not loving my new bangs (since they're always in my eyes).  There isn't a day that goes by that I don't wear one of these clips.  Looks kind of cheesy on me so I don't wear 'em out in public but they have completely helped me keep my sanity until they grow back out.

Finally, this night light from my in-laws that they bought in France.  We keep it in the kitchen, no surprise there!!!  Ha!

38......With Chair Imprints

Happy Birthday to me!  David and I enjoyed dinner on my birthday at Jasper's in Plano.  The food was really good.  However, after we left the restaurant and went next door for a glass of champagne at Cru I noticed that my white outfit had an imprint of the freshly stained chair that I was sitting in on my back.  Grrrrrrr!  I was wearing white and the chair was stained a dark brown.  Looking on the bright side, I'll never forget my 38th birthday now, right?  :)

My Super Cool Girl - Miss Sally Do Hoon

Have I ever said how much I love this little girl?  I mean really, she's the coolest little girl EVER.  She didn't get her coolness from me....no way.  Must be from David.  The picture below is from our drive to  the lake to take our boat out.  Unfortunately right after this picture she put her huge pink glasses on which made her even CUTER (for REAL, like that's even possible she could be ANY cuter, but it's true).  But here she is....she rolled her window down, told me to turn the music up LOUD (it was on the 90's station), and off into pensive land she went.  At one point when I looked back she had her hand tapping to the beat on the window ledge.  It was total B.L.I.S.S. for her.

Not saying that these things are, like, cool but here's a glimpse of things she likes (like I said, none of this is anything like me)......ahem....David from your teen years (minus the tattoos)????

1.  Loud music (I mean REALLY loud) This girl wants rock 'n roll while I want Bach, Mozart, Sinatra, or Indigo Girls.......no she wants the crazy stuff (trust me, I DO NOT encourage it).

2.  Dancing.  And not like dancing to the beat kind of dancing.....she does more of the "interpretive dance" kind of stuff......and the cool thing is.....she's actually really good at it!!!!

3.  FAST cars - she seriously thinks I drive too slow even though I'm going the speed limit (guess that's why she likes riding with Daddy).

4.  Brightly painted cars.

5.  Tattoos, yes I said tattoos. There have been several times she has seen a guy with a huge tattoo and told me she wants Daddy to get one just like it.

So should I be worried about the teenage years??????????   Oh dear........
