My Heaven
For people who know me well, they know my dream. A log cabin on the bank of a river, blue speckled camping dishes, snow, red flannel pj's, a cup of coffee, and a couple of rockers on the front porch. We'd have a beat up very old green pick up truck with no a/c or heater, I'd have apple pies cooling in the window, the kids would be fishing in the river while David and I are rocking in our rocking chairs drinking our coffee. The only sounds would be the river, the kids laughing, the leaves blowing, and great conversation with my husband. If I don't get it in this lifetime, I'm sure hoping that the good Lord will bless me with this dream in heaven.
I went to my sweet friend Sharon's house the other morning for some coffee and good quality play time with her kids and mine. While in her kitchen I noticed a painting. She said the artist is Terry Redlin. That day when I got home I looked him up on the internet. He is so amazing; he reminds a lot of Thomas Kinkade with the way he can "light" up a painting. As I was browsing through his work I came across the picture below. This. Is. My. Dream.

What Does Anticipation Look Like?
I had to punish Benjamin for not obeying the Director of the homeschool co-op that we're involved in at Woodcreek. This is the one that only meets once a month called Heart4Homeschool, not the one he attends weekly. During our devotion time he kept on talking to others around him and she asked him to please be quiet. Then he kept on talking during the prayer. I was able to witness the whole thing. (I was in the auditorium but far across from him with the adults.) Sooooo, I ran over to him afterwards and told him as he was being dismissed to his class that since he didn't obey Mrs. Wilkins his video games will be in time out when he gets home. Here's the situation....he had just bought a new game the day before with his own money and he hadn't played it yet. So he knew after school the next day he'd be able to play it. Well, since he didn't obey I told him he had to wait an hour after we got home to play his game. He was DEVASTATED! I set the timer on the microwave and here is where he sat for 45 minutes of it ...........watching the countdown and giving me updates with every few seconds. Whew.

Boy Toys
David and Benjamin put together some rockets that Grandpa got him for Christmas. Benjamin was so excited to get to shoot these things off! Sweet guy. Savannah was more scared than anything. She spent each rocket launch securely crouched behind me. However, once it landed she was ALL about the rocket. Love these kids. (Oh yes, this was done right before Karate lessons.....hence the uniforms).

Happy 3rd Birthday Jayden!
So who is one of the cutest girls E-V-E-R? (Besides Savannah, ha ha!) My cousin's little girl Jayden. Precious little thing. Savannah and I attended her party while David and Benjamin went to a gun show....typical father son bonding, right? :) Makes me smile. Here are some pics from the party. Alyssa (my cousin) had a face painter at the party....even the adults got into the fun, as you'll see below!
This is my Aunt Cathie (I've always said she looks like Wonder Woman) and her little granddaughter Jadybug (Jayden) the birthday fairy princess.

Nunez's Art Studio
We are so happy and proud of our dearest friends Nancy and Richard. Richard opened up his art studio last week and we got to see all the behind the scenes action! We brought a bottle of champagne and the kids got to paint. This is truly an answer to a long awaited prayer. God is good.
Richard was so sweet. He put up paper for Benjamin and Savannah to color and paint on. They LOVED it!

Happy 5th Birthday Rocco!
Benjamin got to spend the day with his best friend Rocco for Rocco's 5th birthday. They had a blast! Savannah had Mother's Day Out that day and wasn't able to attend (trust me, she wasn't disappointed. She loathes Chuck E Cheese). Here's some cute pictures.
Here's Rocco dancing with Chuck E.
We were there for over 2 hours and the two of them spent almost the entire time on this one game!!!!
They finally moved on to something else.

Simplify
I've been going through a thing.....something probably short-lived, but it has definitely made our house and our lives so much simpler. I'm addicted to "Simplifying" blogs. I've gone through our cabinets, closets, and any horizontal surface that tends to collect stuff and cleared them as much as I feel comfortable; I've also gone through our schedules and cut way back. Seriously, how much does a person need? Shelter, food, clothing, (indoor plumbing because I mean really, it's necessary!!). It's so freeing. One of the blogs that I read posted the following 52 reasons to simplify (okay, so 52 reasons really isn't very simple and is overkill, but oh well).
52 Reasons to Simplify in 2013
Living a simpler life in 2013 means:
